About me

I’m a 20-something professional engineer who lives alone in my one bedroom loft apartment a two bedroom warehouse conversion with the BF.  I live in Sydney, Australia (which, from my travels, appears to be pretty darn expensive, but that’s largely due to high wages).  Wanna know what I looked like?  Head to this post, where I show some photos from Nov 2012, when I shaved my head.

I enjoyed decorating my new home, purchased in Dec 2011, as well as watching movies and TV shows. Now I have a new place to make our home, I’ll take you along for the ride!  I love reading blogs about decluttering and minimalism  as well as personal finance, so that’ll surely be peppered throughout my blog.  I find order in life by writing lists, and can pass a fair bit of time on my smart phone refining and creating lists! I hope to share my lists and plans with my readers, as well as make myself accountable, as much as tracking my progress.

It’s in my nature to apologise – and so I shall.  I know I earn a good salary, and I have very few true challenges. That being said, I look to stretch myself and not squander my fortune and this blog is about reaching my goals, no matter how lofty.  I realise that not everyone who reads this will be able to see past the numbers and figures I post, and for that I’m sorry.

Because I like reading, and regular posters, I try to have a pretty jam packed working week of posts – one a day, Monday to Friday with an occasional surprise post on the weekend.  To make it easier on you (and me), I have a posting plan, which goes like this:

Monday: Money related posts, but this is also a good day for randomness :p

Tuesday: Review day – largely book reviews.

Wednesday: Zero waste day

Thursday: House DIY day – things around the house

Friday: Goals updates – either my monthly goal posts or 12 in 2 progress reports etc, but randomness is also invited!

That’s what I’d like to stick to, but sure enough, life gets in the way, and if something inspires me, it might just turn up any old day!

The most favourite posts (according to my readers!)

Ikea Hack – a Malm bed ledge

Simple storage solutions for a tiny loft house

Pretty ways to store jewelry

Lastly, when I’m cool enough, I might have twitter and instagram for my blog.  For now, you can email me at livetolist(at)gmail.com (obviously replace the (at) with a @ or you can follow me on facebook, once I work out how to make my page public!!

  1. Hi there, good on you for attempting zero waste. We just made some alternatives to plastic wrap that you might be interested in. It’s made of cotton and beeswax, simple and reusable and completly seals things! All the best! Bel and Dunc from the zero challenge in Tasmamia.
